Aqua Zumba is FUN! Zumba is designed for everyone! Anyone can start a Zumba class and have fun. This program is not limited to dancers, fitness fanatics or seniors. All exercisers from beginner to advanced will enjoy the benefits of an Aqua Zumba class. Everyone is welcome in an Aqua Zumba class! In Aqua Zumba it is ideal that the water is at chest level when standing. The Yakima Family YMCA is proud to have the ONLY Registered Aqua Zumba class within nearly 100 miles of Yakima! Click here for the current Aqua Zumba Flyer!

If Water Aerobics is your preference, we have classes for Active Older Adults, or adults with arthritis (low intensity), as well as high and medium intensity classes. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Pool temperature is kept at a constant 84 degrees.

If Recreational Swimming is your choice, we have evening open swims every week night (which includes the slide), afternoons on weekends, as well as youth swim times after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  We also offer a Family Swim every Friday night, where children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian.

If Adult Lap Swimming & Water Walking is your preference, we offer a wide variety of times throughout the day.  If you like to swim early, the pool opens at 5:00 am every weekday for lap swim and at 7:00 am on Saturdays.  We also have time available during lunch time and early afternoon as well as in the evenings.

We also have a Masters Swim Program which is designed for adult swimmers (18 and over) who already know how to swim.  The intention is to improve stroke technique to make you more efficient in the water; provide structured workouts; give you the option to train for triathlons and competitions; and, to offer motivation and encouragement to help you get through those hard workouts. The class is instructed in a "swim team" fashion.  This is an ongoing program and costs $30 for facility members and $45 for program members. click for more info

Note: this is not a swim lesson class. Masters Registration Form
