Swim Team Age 6 and UpSwim Team (ages 6 and up)

Registration Required

Does your child want to get involved in competitive swimming? The Yakima YMCA Swim Team (YYST) is a USA Swimming affiliate. We teach starts, turns, and the fundamentals of all four competitive swim strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. You’ll train in the indoor, 25-yard, 4-lane pool with built-in starting blocks. Practices are a combination of sprint workouts, endurance workouts, and stroke technique refinement. USA-certified swim coaches provide each swimmer with individualized attention. Get fit and enjoy the competition and camaraderie! For more information contact coach Roger Coburn: 509-972-5272 or email rcoburn@yakimaymca.org.

Designed for adults who know how to swim, swimmers will improve stroke technique while getting some serious exercise! Swimmers can also train for triathlons or competitions. Class is taught in a swim team style, and instructors are great motivators, offering encouragement to help you power through these intense workouts.
