Youth Sports

We have sports for all ages and skill levels! Get your kids involved in fun sports where they can make friends and stay active.

Itty Bitty Sports (Ages 3-6)

Your child will have fun learning a sport and being part of a team! A non-competitive option for younger kids, this is all about teamwork, positivity, and great sportsmanship! Taught by parent and community volunteers, kids learn the basics and get practice with listening and social skills, hand-eye coordination, and more.

Youth Sports

Enroll your child in youth sports and give them a gift that will last a lifetime! Not only are youth sports an excellent way for kids to stay active, they are also an opportunity for kids to be involved, belong, and learn all about the values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Our youth sports are all about participation, so all participants play in every game, and we welcome boys and girls with all levels of experience. Our focus is on teamwork, skill development, hand-eye coordination, and of course, having fun!

Eastside Sports

Get involved in sports near you! We are able to offer incredible sports opportunities at no cost, thanks to our partnerships with United Way, the Yakima School District, and lots of wonderful volunteers. Eligible kids simply need to register, and programs are structured as an “after-school league.” The YMCA provides the sports equipment, and uniforms are handed out on the first game day. We encourage parents to volunteer.

The best part? Youth learn the values of the YMCA: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring. They’ll also learn all about fair play, skill development, teamwork, and community pride—all of which are emphasized over winning.

Grades K -5

Schools Served: Garfield, McKinley, and Robertson

Sports: Basketball (fall/winter), Soccer (spring)

Registrations are available at the elementary schools or at the YMCA.

We need you!

Truly a community program, 400 kids participate every year, and volunteers are a vital part of its success. There are lots of roles to fill, from coaches to referees, and more. All volunteers must pass a Washington State Patrol background check.
