Itty Bitty sports are designed to introduce basic skills and concepts to children ages 3-6 years old. The YMCA supports learning through family participation. Sports are taught to children through parent volunteers. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate with their child.
At this age, the YMCA promotes a non-competitive and positive environment. The goals of this program are to teach children: Teamwork, hand-eye coordination, listening and social skills, sportsmanship and the basic skills of the given sport.
Sessions typically last 5 weeks with 2 practices per week, and each practice runs for one hour. The YMCA will provide all equipment needed for the program.

YOUTH SPORTS (GRADES 1-4)
Youth sports are designed to help kids in 1st-4th grades develop their skills and confidence in each sport offered.
At this age, the YMCA promotes a semi-competitive and positive environment. The primary goals of this program are to teach kids: Teamwork, sportsmanship, and the basic skills of the given sport while teaching the Y’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
Sports offered:
• Basketball: Coming again in 2025
• Volleyball: June 11-27, Registration opens May 6
• Strength Training Camp: July 9-18, Registration opens June 3
Your kids will have fun in this safe environment at the YAKIMA FAMILY YMCA. Our drop-in youth room is the perfect place for your youngster to make friends, play, and exercise! You’ll rest easy knowing they are supervised by our caring YMCA Staff while the kids have opportunities to enjoy swimming and gym time, arts and crafts, ping-pong, games, and more!

Do parents need a break from their 9TH-12TH grader? Or more like the 9TH-12TH grader needs a break from the parents?! Either way, bring them to Yakima Family YMCA in Downtown Yakima (5 N Naches Ave) for MIDNIGHT MADNESS!
For student's 9TH - 12TH grade. FREE program; bring school ID to event or no entry will be allowed in the facility.

Drop the kids off for 2 hours of fun and entertainment at the YMCA & Yakima Rotary Aquatic Center! You can have a date night, catch up on your to-dos, or just take a break while our caring YMCA Staff supervise the kids. Kids have lots of fun with games, basketball, swimming, and more, all while experiencing our community and learning the values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Healthy Kids' Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families in the month of April. For over 30 years, YMCA’s and their communities have hosted community events aimed to inspire kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.

Come celebrate with us and make it your best party ever! Party rentals start at $250 for 20 attendees and $300 for up to 40 attendees.
Your party includes:
• One hour in a private area
• 90 minutes in the pool
Book your party in-person at either of our locations.
Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
In order to guarantee your party date reservation, we require payment in full when you book.
We can only accommodate the 90-minute swim time for parties.
We can accommodate more than 20 attendees on Saturday and Sunday only. Extra fee of $50 for up to 40 attendees.
Upon arrival, please check in at the Member Service Desk, and you will be directed to the party area by our Party Host.
Your room will be available to set up 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. The reserved room must be cleared out 15 minutes after to allow time for cleaning prior to the next party.
Tables and chairs for the reserved amount. We do not provide decorations, tablecloths, plates, cups, or utensils.
Yes, but our fire & security systems do not allow for piñatas, silly string, confetti, or helium balloons.
Yes, you are welcome to bring outside food but we do not have refrigeration in the party area and the kitchen is not available for use. No food or drink in the pool area.
The Y follows all safety guidelines and requirements for lifeguards, who are on duty during parties and rec swim sessions.
Yes, parties are scheduled during our rec swim sessions.
Yes, please read our pool guidelines and rules.
Party participants only have access to the party room and pool area.
Yes, as long as there is enough time to accommodate the changes for your party.
Please contact us as soon as possible so we can reschedule your party based on availability. There will be a $50 cancellation fee.
YES! For an additional fee of $25 parties who rent the community room can utilize the air hockey and foosball games. If you wish to use the TV, please let the Birthday Host know.
Parties are encouraged to provide their own towels.
