Jewett Center

The Jewett Center is a full-time child care center located just blocks from the Downtown YMCA. Our child care programs are designed to enhance and enrich each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development, using a professional early learning curriculum. We partner with parents, working together to help children learn, grow and thrive. We ensure our staff are fully prepared to care for your child, including being certified in First Aid/CPR and having a background in education, child development, or another associated field.

Ages Served
We care for babies from 8 weeks old to children 5 years old.

  • 8 weeks – 11 months: We love babies! Our caring staff provides a warm, safe and nurturing environment. Babies follow their own eating and sleeping schedules. We’ll make sure your baby gets just what they need and stay in close communication with you.
  • 1-2 years: Perfect for children who are not yet steady on their feet but curious about the world around them, we provide a safe environment for your child to explore and learn while developing social skills along the way.
  • 2-3 years: Your little toddler will make friends and learn new skills in a safe, friendly environment. We help children with self-esteem building, coordination, and other skills through fun, structured activities.
  • 3-4 years: We begin to prepare your child for kindergarten with a focus on early literacy. Your child will get lessons in math, language, science, health, and arts and crafts—all while having fun and connecting with others! We can’t wait to help your child learn about their world.
  • 4-5 years: Your child will thrive in this learning environment that prepares them for kindergarten! We offer lots of opportunities for learning in math, reading, and science. Children will make friends, learn together, and gain social and emotional skills. They’ll share in fun activities that encourage fine and large motor skills.
